Privacy Policy

Last updated

This Privacy Policy explains how DriveTruth ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use www.drivetruth.com.au. Last updated 2026-07-20.

The short version

  • Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type — income, car price, mileage and so on — are used only to compute your result on your device. We do not send them to our servers, and we do not store them.
  • You don't need an account and we don't ask for personal details to use the tools.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads. Both use cookies. Details below.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We (and our third-party providers, Google) use cookies to measure traffic and to serve advertising. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings, and choose the ad options described below.

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors use the site — pages viewed, device type, and an approximate location derived from IP address. This helps us improve the tools and content. Google processes this data as described in its privacy policy. You can opt out across sites with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Google AdSense and advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at myadcenter.google.com (formerly adssettings.google.com).
  • You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.com.au in Australia).
  • For more on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We are an independent publisherAds are served by Google and its partners, not by us. We do not receive the personal data those advertising cookies collect; that relationship is between you and Google/its ad partners under their policies.

What we collect ourselves

Beyond the analytics and advertising cookies above, we don't collect personal information through the site. If you email us (see our contact page), we receive your email address and whatever you include, and use it only to reply.

Your choices and rights

  • Manage or block cookies in your browser at any time.
  • Opt out of personalised ads via the links above.
  • If you are in Australia, you have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles; if you are in the EU/UK, you may have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR. Contact us to exercise them.

External links, children, and security

The site links to third-party sites (e.g. the ATO, state revenue offices, ad partners) whose privacy practices are their own. The site is not directed at children. We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Questions? See our contact page.

Please review before relying on thisThis policy is a good-faith template for an independent, ad-supported information site. It is not legal advice — have it reviewed against your final ad/analytics setup and obligations before launch.
